Marcos Alonso Imaz nicknamed “Marquitos” played as a defender and spent most part of his career at Real Madrid, where he won La Liga five times (1954–55, 1956–57, 1957–58, 1960–61, 1961–62) and the European Cup five consecutive times (1955–56, 1956–57, 1957–58, 1958–59, 1959–60), amongst other trophies.
His son Marcos Alonso Peña simply known as Marcos, spent most part of his career at Barcelona where he won La Liga in 1984-85 and the Copa del Rey in 1982-83, amongst other trophies- and also finished European Cup runner-up in 1985-86. Besides Barcelona, he played for the likes of Racing Santander and Atletico Madrid.
His grandson Marcos Alonso Mendoza began his career at Real Madrid before leaving for Bolton Wanderers and later Chelsea, where he won the Premier League in 2016/17, UCL in 2021/21, FA Cup in 2017/18, Europa League in 2018/19, amongst other trophies. He currently plays for Barcelona.
